Otavia first appeared in 1962 (the dashboard timers for cars and aircraft of the same name appeared in 1933). The Otavia was the first watch led by TAG Heuer's key person, Jack Heuer, the fourth generation of the Heuer family. By the way, the name is a coined word consisting of two fields that the company has emphasized and supported: AUTomobile (automobile) and AVIAtion (aviation).

The TAG Heuer Otavia 60th Anniversary Flyback Chronograph is the first chronograph to be equipped with the TAG Heuer Autavia 02 COSC flyback manufactured in-house as an Otavia. It is possible to perform so-called lap measurement by resetting the related hands of the chronograph and restarting the measurement without stopping the stopwatch function. This time, there are two variations in the lineup, one is a homage model to the rare panda dial produced in the 1960s, which is extremely limited, and adopts a polished main stainless steel case. The other is a model that uses a black dial and a DLC-coated stainless steel case to show the connection with the military watch of the past. Both are set with a bidirectional rotating bezel with a black ceramic top ring.
