Windows 11 Mini Tips (28) I want to lighten the operation of Explorer even a little | My Navi News My Navi News My Navi

Explorer++ with support for

tabs. I'm using the development version, but the support for dark mode is in transition, and the tabs and menu bar remain the same. There is no shortcut key to switch the display format, so if you are accustomed to Explorer, the usability is not good enough

The development of a filer from a long time ago has declined, and I remembered the existence of FDclone when I couldn't find any options. It is a tool that ported the filer for DOS developed by Mr. Atsushi Ijiri, who is famous among PC users in the past, to Linux.

Simple operations such as renaming a file or moving a file can be done easily via WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux), and it reminds me of a simple explorer around Windows XP.

However, my fingers have become accustomed to Explorer, and I often find myself confused because I can't remember how to operate FDclone. Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22523 fixes a bug that caused keyboard focus to be lost when renaming files in OneDrive folders.

However, it is unclear when this fix will be reflected in Windows 11 version 21H2. Is Microsoft's response first, or is it first for the author to master FDclone etc.? I use my PC every day, thinking about it in vain.

Now, the reason I say this privately is because it's about making Explorer lighter. For example, an animation effect is added to the menu that appears when you click/tap "New" in Explorer. It's a matter of personal preference, but I would like it to respond instantly when I press a key or click a mouse button.

In past Windows, you can choose the performance of Explorer with "Performance Options", but Windows 11 is in the transition period to Windows UI Library 3, so there are some unknown parts about how the setting items work.

According to the author's confirmation, the animation effect when clicking/tapping the buttons lined up in the toolbar can be disabled by checking off "Animation Controls and Elements in Windows".

You may want to select "Better performance" and then select the features you want to enable, such as "Smooth edges of screen fonts".

I have been taking it every day without setting a liver-free day, but the γ-GTP level has increased sharply, and urgent action is required.
