Message from the Mayor (October 14 with video)

We will sell "Iida City Shopping Gift Certificates" to stimulate consumption and support businesses

On October 13th, within the jurisdiction of the Iida Public Health Center , it was announced that one positive person for the new coronavirus infection was confirmed. We would like to express our deepest sympathies to those who have been infected, their families, and other related parties, and we wish them a speedy recovery.

On September 27th, Nagano prefecture's new coronavirus infection alert level was lowered to 1, but the situation in this area remained calm even before the alert level was lowered for all prefectures. In the one month from September 14th, only three positive people have been announced in this area, including one on October 13th. This is entirely due to the high awareness of citizens and the practice of infection control, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude. Nationwide, the number of new positive cases has decreased even after the state of emergency was lifted, and the fifth wave is believed to have subsided, so it can be said that the risk of infection is currently relatively low.

Mayor Message (October 14 Video Yes)

In the city, local and cultural activities are gradually resuming, but as part of the city's economic measures, we are selling "Iida City Shopping Gift Certificates" from November to the end of the year. We aim to stimulate consumption and support business operators. Also, we would like citizens to support the shops in the city by using the "Shinshu Go To Eat Campaign" and the "Shinshu Premium Meal Voucher" that will be sold in the future.

It seems that the flow of people to the city is gradually returning, mainly among young people, but everyone at the restaurant said, ``About a month after the request to shorten the time was lifted, we took measures to prevent infection. We are still waiting for customers, but customers have not returned yet." I have heard that in some areas, the flow of people has been stagnant due to groundless rumors, but only one person has been confirmed to be positive in Iida City in the past month. The area is not dangerous.

At "Shinshu's Safe Shops (external link)", we have taken thorough measures to prevent infection, so we would like you to enjoy eating and drinking with peace of mind. At that time, we would like to ask all citizens to take their own infection control measures in line with the Nagano Prefecture's recommendation for "Shinshu version of 'new dinner'".

(1) Thoroughly implement infection prevention measures (2) Avoid baseless rumors and slander (3) Support local shops and cooperate in revitalizing the local economy

I would like to ask citizens for the above three points. Thank you.
