``Rakuten Mobile's iPhone can't receive calls.'' Why does Rakuten Mobile still continue to sell?

Some Rakuten Mobile iPhone users are saying that they can't receive calls. Takahiro Suzuki, an economic commentator, is one of those with experience. How does Rakuten Mobile perceive this problem? I interviewed the company. Photo = Motoo Naka / Afro Rakuten Mobile started selling iPhones on April 30, 2021. See all images (6 photos)

It's my routine to call my mobile from my home landline every morning. I was lucky enough to receive a call this morning.

This work has continued since I changed my smartphone to Rakuten Mobile with MNP on November 23rd. The trigger was that my wife was a little grumpy when I got home the night I switched to Rakuten's iPhone 12pro.

"I called you many times, but I just got 'I can't answer the phone'"

Say

.

Due to the nature of my job, I don't answer my phone during meetings or meetings with clients. However, she is dissatisfied, saying, ``Usually, when I receive a call, they always call me back, but today I waited for a long time, but I didn't get a reply.''

So I checked my smartphone, but there is no trace of incoming calls. So when I asked him to call me from my wife's smartphone, my wife's phone answered "I can't answer the call" and my iPhone doesn't show any incoming call history.

"I'm sorry. It looks like the iPhone I bought from Rakuten has an initial failure."

I apologized and searched the net. Here, for the first time, I learned that it was not an initial failure, but a similar failure with Rakuten Mobile users.

Common to some of Rakuten Mobile's iPhone users,

① I can't receive calls from a landline phone or another company's mobile ② The incoming call history is not displayed on my smartphone

It means that there is a failure.

That night, when I sent an email to report a problem from the contact point of Rakuten Mobile, I received a reply after noon the next day. The workaround is written as "We have received a report of resolution by trying the following items".

Specifically, the work includes updating the OS version, restarting the product, turning on/off Wi-Fi, turning on/off airplane mode, and removing and inserting the SIM card. I tried all this.

So, when I called my wife at home and had her call back, I was relieved that she received the call safely, but in the evening,

"I tried to contact Mr. Suzuki on his cell phone, but it seems he can't answer."

And a report from a business partner. It seems to be a feature of this fault that it may return to a state where it cannot receive calls even after resetting once.
