Register an account

You can add an Instagram account from the smartphone app or PC. When adding from a smartphone, first download the app to your device. On Instagram, the procedure for registering a corporate account is the same as for an individual.

After downloading Instagram, the account registration screen will be displayed. You can create an account registration using any of the following information:

If you create an account for business, it is better to operate it separately from your personal Facebook, so register from your phone number or email address.

When you send a phone number or email address, the verification code will be sent to SMS if it is a phone number or to that address if it is an email address.

After entering the code you received correctly, the next step is to specify your name and password.

Then enter your birthday. Please note that this date of birth information will not be published on your profile.

You can then specify your username. This username will be used to generate the URL for your Instagram account, so make sure your business name is easy to remember. You can use single-byte alphanumericals and basic symbols, up to a maximum of 30 characters.

After this, you'll see an add profile image and a "Follow your account" dialog, but you can skip this at this stage. Since the profile image cannot be made private, it is not set here, but it will be set later together with the profile text.

This completes the account registration.

In Instagram, you can create up to 5 accounts with one login information (email address / phone number and password). If you have already registered your account individually, you can create a new account from the option "Add Account". In this case, you do not need to register your email address or phone number (because you have already registered).

Please note that the login information is common, so to use the second account, you must first log in to your personal account and then switch to the second account. For this reason, when operating as a company with multiple people, individual accounts will also be shared.

To avoid this, set a dedicated password for the second account as well. After creating an account, you can create a new password from the security settings. If you create a password, you will be able to log in with your user name and password. However, please note that your email address and phone number will be shared.

Switch to a professional account

If you use Instagram as a business, we recommend switching to a professional account. With a Pro account, you can use analytics and list your business contacts.

To switch to a Pro account, go to "Edit profile" or "Switch to Pro account" from "Accounts" in "Settings".

Next, select the account type from "Creator" or "Business".

Then select a category. You can select the category from the recommendations, and you can also search. You can choose whether or not to show the category in your profile, so if you don't find one that applies to you, it's a good idea to choose a similar category and turn off the display. The off setting can be selected in "Show Category Labels" from "View Profile" in "Edit Profile".

After setting the category, add the contact. The information you enter here will be public information, so be sure to include anything that can be displayed on your profile. If you do not have a contact, you can select "Do not use".

After this, you will be asked to link / create with the Facebook page, but if you do not have a Facebook page, you do not need to force it. If you have a page, you can use some functions by linking it. Please check this out for details.

This completes the pro account settings.

Edit account

After completing the account registration and switching to the professional account, register the profile picture, profile text, link of your company site, etc. from "Edit profile". Enter the information properly so that you can tell that it is an official account.

The profile text can be up to 150 characters. You can also insert mentions and hashtags, so if you have a hashtag that you want your related account or user to use, put it in your profile.

Be sure to include your company's link in the website link. As a general rule, the URL functions as a link on Instagram only in this profile field *. Even if you include the URL in the caption of the post, the link will not be valid, so it is recommended that you include the link you want the user to access and replace it if necessary. * If the number of followers exceeds 10,000, you will be able to insert links in Stories.

■ About Instagram certification badges Since December 2014, Instagram has begun to attach certification badges to accounts of celebrities, celebrities, popular brands, etc. to prove their authenticity as an anti-spam measure. The certification badge is a blue checkmark like the one below.

Authentication badges can now be submitted via a Pro account. However, it is up to Instagram to decide whether or not the application will be approved.

Even if you don't have an authorization badge, to make it easier to identify your account as an official account, make sure it's authentic, such as by providing a link from the official website to your Instagram account.

Change settings

Let's take a look at the detailed settings of the account. You can set the following function restrictions from "Account Settings" → "Privacy Settings". Consider what kind of operation you want to do, and set each as necessary.

1. Comment

■ Limit who can comment on a post You can choose who can comment on a post from the following options.

■ Specifying who to block comments If you specify a user, that user's comments will not be visible to other users. The blocked party will not be notified. (However, advertising is not applicable)

■ Automatic filter on / off setting Inappropriate comments are automatically hidden. Effective for posts, stories, and live videos.

■ Setting the manual filter If you set keywords, comments containing them will not be displayed.

2. Tags

■ Limit who can be tagged From the following options, you can choose who is allowed to be tagged.

■ On / off setting of tagging approval function It is a function to manually approve after seeing the post tagged by yourself. If set, tagging will not take effect unless you approve it.

We recommend that you turn it on to increase the spread of your posts. Allow Sharing You can set whether to allow content posted to Stories to be shared with others' Stories. It is recommended to turn this on as well.

5. Activity status

The date and time when you last used the Instagram app is a function that is displayed to the account you are following and the person to whom you are sending a message. We recommend turning off corporate accounts.

6. Message

■ Limit who can receive messages You can set who can send messages from the following options. ■ Restricting addition to groups You can set who can be added to a message group from the following options.

Precautions when opening an account

When opening a corporate account, there are some other points to keep in mind when setting up, so I will introduce them.

■ Do not change the user name many times in a short time You can change the user name as many times as you like, but if you continue to change it in a short time, you may not be able to change it. Make sure to set it after the account information is officially decided, including the profile text.

■ Syncing contacts and Facebook If you open an account on your personal device, your private friends' contacts and Facebook friend information will be linked, so be careful when synchronizing.

■ Public account settings Pro accounts cannot keep their accounts private. If you don't want anyone to see you, or while you're preparing your account, it's a good idea to use a personal account.

■ Setting 2-step verification To prevent account hijacking, be sure to set 2-step verification. You can set it from Account Settings> Security> Two-step verification. The authentication method uses an authentication app such as SMS or Duo Mobile.

■ Setting the minimum age If you are a company that handles products with age restrictions such as alcohol, set an age limit such as making it available only to those over 20 years old. You can set it from Account Settings> Business> Minimum Age.

When deleting an account

To delete an Instagram account, open the account deletion page while logged in to the PC version of Instagram. You can delete your account by selecting the reason for deleting your account and clicking "Delete Account Permanently".

You can also temporarily suspend your account without deleting it. Click on the profile picture in the upper right corner of the PC version of Instagram to go to "Edit Profile". There is a link at the bottom right of "Edit Profile" that says "Temporarily suspend your account", so you can click it to temporarily suspend your account.
