I tried using a smart watch with a built-in earphone that plays two roles (February 27, 2022) | BIGLOBE News

Photo: Haruki Matsumoto This is an article of another project edited and written by the commerce team of Mediagene Co., Ltd., to which Gizmodo Japan belongs. Reprinted from Lifehacker [Japan Version] A smartwatch with convenient functions such as payment and activity tracking. The Apple Watch is also popular throughout the series, and you can get a model limited to measuring exercise and life rhythm from a few thousand yen, so you have a lot more options. Meanwhile, the unusual smart watch "Wearbuds Watch" has appeared on the sister site machi-ya. At first glance, it's a simple smartphone with a large LCD, but it's actually a product with wireless earphones. Now that I have borrowed a sample, I would like to share with you my impressions of using the watch and earphones. The watch has a classic round design Photo: Haruki Matsumoto "Wearbuds Watch" The main body has a large round LCD, which is a so-called royal road watch style product. The calm case of the gun metallic type is sporty with red accents. Photo: Haruki Matsumoto Here is the side by side with the author's Apple Watch Series 3 (38mm size). According to the specifications, the diameter is 30.4 mm, which is not extremely large compared to other smart watches, but I think it has high visibility. Photo: Haruki Matsumoto The belt is made of rubber and I was comfortable wearing it. It weighs about 65g and doesn't feel heavy, but it feels heavier than the Apple Watch. I think you will get used to this area after a while. Earphones that are certainly convenient Photo: Haruki Matsumoto The biggest feature of "Wearbuds Watch" is that it has wireless earphones. It was firmly fixed with a magnet and did not seem to fall even if I lowered my arm. Photo: Haruki Matsumoto It can be used for about 2.5 hours alone, and up to 12 hours when charged with the watch itself. The performance is a little modest compared to the product of the wireless earphone alone, but it is reasonable considering that the smartphone doubles as a case. It also supports AAC, so iPhone users can enjoy high-quality sound sources to some extent. Photo: Haruki Matsumoto I felt that the sound quality was set closer to the mid and high range. Vocals were easy to hear and seemed to go well with radio as well as music. I think it's unsatisfactory if the emphasis is on bass, but I think it can be said that the sound quality is gentle on the ears. Photo: Haruki Matsumoto I haven't made a precise comparison, but it was comfortable enough with a pairing speed comparable to the wireless earphones I usually use. Excellent operation feeling and functions Photo: Haruki Matsumoto Not only the dial but also touch operation is supported. Its main use is as a fitness tracker such as a pedometer and cardiopulmonary measurement. Photo: Haruki Matsumoto By swiping vertically, I was able to call up functions such as settings, timers, and play / stop of songs. Photo: Haruki Matsumoto The notification function is a function that I cannot remove when using a smartwatch. It's helpful because it's hard to miss incoming calls and messages even when you're a little far from your smartphone! "Wearbuds Watch" was also compatible with telephone calls and various SNS. Photo: Haruki Matsumoto The background image could be selected from 5 patterns. There was no function to set the original wallpaper such as uploading photos, so this may be a place to expect for future updates. Photo: Haruki Matsumoto You can manage the distance traveled, calories burned, and sleep tracking results with the app. I've used some activity trackers, but I didn't find them particularly inconvenient when compared to those apps. Image: catwalkcollectionllc I think many people enjoy running or playing music at the gym, but the unique advantage of "Wearbuds Watch" is that you don't have to carry an earphone case with you. The smart watch "Wearbuds Watch" with built-in wireless earphones is currently conducting a great campaign on the crowdfunding site machi-ya. At the time of writing, it was possible to order from 23,655 yen (tax and shipping included), which is 5% off the general selling price.
